Hankuk Carbon won another order for ultra-low temperature insulation materials for LNG cargo tanks of Hyundai Heavy Industries Group

Hankuk Carbon of South Korea won another order for ultra-low temperature insulation materials for LNG cargo tanks of Hyundai Heavy Industries Group, with a total amount of 48,239,355 million won (approximately US$40.71 million), which is equivalent to 11.72% of the company's sales last year.


On December 29, Hankuk Carbon signed supply contracts with Hyundai Heavy Industries and Hyundai Sanhu Heavy Industries. The contract value signed with Hyundai Heavy Industries was 32.15957 billion won (approximately US$27.14 million). The contract value is 16,079785 million won (approximately USD 13.57 million). The contract period is from December 28, 2021 to August 28, 2023.

Hankuk Carbon said: “The material supply time in this contract is determined at the request of the shipyard. Due to the production characteristics of the shipbuilding industry, depending on the progress of ship construction schedules, the supply time of insulation materials may also be changed.”

Hankuk Carbon is a company that produces thermal insulation materials used in ships and marine engineering equipment. It is also a major international manufacturer of thermal insulation foam panels for LNG ships. It has long been the three largest Korean shipbuilding companies such as Hyundai Heavy Industries Group, Samsung Heavy Industries, and Daewoo Shipbuilding. Supply of ultra-low temperature insulation materials for LNG cargo holds. In July this year, the company signed contracts with Hyundai Heavy Industries and Hyundai Sanhu Heavy Industries for the supply of ultra-low temperature insulation materials for LNG cargo tanks. The total contract value is approximately 139.4 billion won (approximately US$121 million).
