Chinese 3D printer manufacturer successfully develops micro-nano 3D printer Hay:H01SHPL

On the morning of January 12, 2022, China's national key project "Micro-Nano Structure Additive Manufacturing Process and Equipment" led by SHPL Micro-Nano Additive Equipment Technology Corporation passed the comprehensive performance evaluation of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China. This marks that China's 3D printing has entered the "micro-nano era".


The project was approved by the National High-tech Research and Development Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology on August 25, 2018. Based on the original technology with independent intellectual property rights, SHPL led Southeast University, University of Science and Technology of China, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, East China University of Science and Technology, Seven universities including Nanjing University, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and Changchun University of Science and Technology have formed a strong R&D team, starting from four levels of common technology, cutting-edge technology, key technology and equipment, and application demonstration, and have broken through many technical barriers in the micro-nano field along the way.


According to Professor Chen Yunfei, the project leader, the main difference between micro-nano 3D printing technology and traditional 3D printing technology is that the precision of micro-nano 3D printing can reach mesoscopic, microscopic and nanoscopic levels. The nanoscale level is one billionth of a meter, which is equivalent to 1/60,000 of the diameter of a human hair. Based on this feature, micro-nano 3D printing can manufacture devices at the micro-level, such as microfluidic chips, cell scaffolds, micro-sensors, etc., and greatly reduce the manufacturing cost, realizing the integrated intelligence of micro-nano devices at a very low cost. Printing production, these are beyond the reach of 3D printing in the past.


Micro-nano research has always been at the forefront of world science and technology. Traditional processes often use MEMS processing technology similar to chip manufacturing, and the cost is very high. Even so, it cannot be effectively implemented in the face of complex structures.
