Due to its material properties, carbon fiber requires high temperatures to form, which means that the sealing performance of the mold is very demanding.
Carbon fiber products need to be integrally formed. Then, huge body parts such as tailgates and roofs need to use super-large molds. The larger the size of the mold, the more difficult it is to produce.
The company has introduced a 4,000-ton composite material press to process carbon fiber molds. This machine is only 4.5 meters long and 3.5 meters wide.
"The precision of carbon fiber molds is very high, and the products are often as thin as one millimeter. The thin thickness means that the rigidity is weakened, and the products have to be made larger, and it is difficult to take into account the stability." NBYP's R&D team has overcome many technical problems.
At present, the company has 87 patented technologies in the field of carbon fiber composite structural parts molds.
Like the tailgate of an SUV, the structure is more complicated, and NBYP" is the first company in China to make carbon fiber molds for it.
