3D printing startup Meditool receives Evonik funding and replaces metal 3D printed neuro and spinal surgical implants with Evonik’s polymer PEEK

In Shanghai, China, startup Meditok has recently received a "millions of euros" investment from German industrial chemical company Evonik. It is reported that this is also Evonik's first direct investment in China.

The investment aims to enhance Evonik's smart materials growth engine through innovative applications of high-performance polymers.

Meditool uses Evonik's polymer PEEK instead of metal 3D printed neuro and spinal surgical implants to help speed up patient recovery, reduce post-operative examinations, and also reduce surgical risks.
