5G RF chip manufacturer Skyworks stated that it has obtained a limited license to ship Huawei

On September 15th, with the third wave of sanctions in the United States, many chip companies were unable to supply Huawei. However, five chip companies have recently obtained licenses to resume supply to Huawei. Skyworks, a US radio frequency chip company, also stated today that it can resume supply from Huawei in a limited manner.

Skyworks is a well-known electronics and chip manufacturer in the United States, and a global leader in the field of high-reliability analog and mixed-signal semiconductors.

The company's products include amplifiers, attenuators, detectors, diodes, directional couplers, front-end modules, hybrid microcircuits, infrastructure subsystems, mixer demodulators, phase shifters, synthesizers, etc.

In the 5G market, Skyworks is one of the key RF chip suppliers. Many of Huawei’s previous mobile phones have purchased their RF components, but after the ban this year, they have stopped shipping.

At the recent 2020 Q4 financial report meeting, Skyworks stated that it has obtained a limited license for some products to ship to Huawei, and is currently communicating with Huawei to clarify what products they need and want.

However, Skyworks did not mention which chips or components are included in their shipment license. Huawei must definitely need high-end 5G radio frequency chips. However, according to previous rumors, the United States will not approve the parts involving 5G.
