Acuity Brands acquires optical component maker WhiteOptics to further improve performance of commercial and architectural products

On June 20, Acuity Brands, the North American market leader and the world's leading supplier of lighting and building management solutions, announced the acquisition of WhiteOptics, LLC (WhiteOptics®), an advanced optical component manufacturer based in New Castle, USA. Commercial and institutional lighting provides reflective, diffuse and control technologies and materials.

WhiteOptics' product portfolio includes light guides, optical diffusers and innovative microstructured lenses. WhiteOptics' transmission products include optics that improve light quality for better uniform glare levels (UGR), superior luminaire efficiency and energy savings.

"WhiteOptics offers a wide range of optical materials that can further enhance the performance of our commercial and architectural products.
