AGC high-speed dimming glass WONDERLITE® Dx, first installed in Toyota`s Harrier mass production car

Toyota's new Harrier, which was officially launched globally on June 17, was equipped with AGC's high-speed dimming glass WONDERLITE® Dx for the first time. This glass is installed in the panoramic sunroof of this model and can control the light transmittance instantly. It is the world's first* dimming glass to be installed in mass production vehicles.

Dimming mode

In the dimming mode (opaque state), the dazzling sunlight is blocked out, which can block 99% of the ultraviolet rays, the car is cool and refreshing, and reducing the use of air conditioning can also contribute to environmental protection.

Transmission mode

In the transmission mode (clear state), the glass becomes transparent, full of openness, and the sun and the beauty pour down from the top of the head.

Between the two pieces of glass, there is a thin film made of small special materials invisible to the naked eye, and the voltage is used to control the dispersion or orientation of the special materials, thereby switching between the dimming mode and the transmission mode. As for how to achieve "instantaneous" control of light transmittance, it depends on AGC's decades of technology accumulation in the automotive industry and the innovative ability written in DNA.

Sit in a car with dimming glass, I hope you can see the sky from one more angle, and you can see yourself from another angle!
