Ai Build, the UK’s largest additive manufacturing artificial intelligence and robotics company, launches AI-based automatic 3D printing

On October 8, 2018, as part of Digital Design Week 2018, Ai Build, a large-scale additive manufacturing artificial intelligence and robotics company in London, showcased new technologies that bring 3D printing and artificial intelligence algorithms to factories to change our future the way.

The startup has been working hard to develop an efficient and large-scale 3D printing platform using industrial robots and machine learning software. Ai Build's goal is to work with innovative companies to provide them with advanced 3D printing technology and provide them with future factory services. With monthly or yearly subscriptions, customers can use Ai Build's autonomous large-scale 3D printing technology to manufacture products in their own facilities without restriction.

The inclusion of artificial intelligence and robotics should overcome today's biggest 3D printing limitation: production time. They said: "Because the 3D printers available on the market are small and slow, 3D printing of large structures using today's technology is very expensive or almost impossible."

In the sculpture gallery of the Victoria and Albert Museum, visitors have the opportunity to experience a complete set of software, hardware and infrastructure that enables the factory to autonomously 3D print large products.

Ai Build's technology includes three components: AiSync, AiMaker, and AiCell. AiSync is a cloud-based web application that allows users to simulate, control and monitor their 3D printers from anywhere.

AiMaker is a smart thermoplastic extruder designed to connect industrial robotic arms to ensure optimal manufacturing quality and speed.

AiCell is a lightweight, modular chassis that can house industrial robot 3D printers in a highly controlled environment for maximum accuracy and repeatability.

"The ultimate company's long-term vision is to transform the construction industry by introducing artificial intelligence to the built environment," the company said.

Two years ago, Ai Build partnered with well-known developer Arup Engineers-known for the development of the Sydney Opera House and the Pompidou Centre for Art, and created the 3D printed Daedalus Pavilion to showcase their customized large 3D printed robots and learning algorithms. feasibility. It consists of 48 separate parts and uses custom KUKA industrial robots for 3D printing in just three weeks.

London-based Ai Build is dreaming about the next generation of buildings, where artificial intelligence and robotics are indispensable. Earlier this month, Ai Build announced a partnership with Kuka Robotics, one of the world's leading industrial robot manufacturers. The company expects their technology to be used in a variety of industries such as furniture, construction, automotive and aerospace.
