Designer Alexis Walsh, who specializes in 3D printed fashion, collaborated with Justin Hattendorf to launch its APEX collection of clothing, which combines hand decoration and 3D printing. It is reported that APEX series clothing also participated in the luxury car Lexus 3D fashion show held in Dusseldorf, Germany.
Alexis Walsh APEX collection combines traditional fashion with 3D printing
It is understood that Walsh has been using 3D printing technology for a long time to explore wearable designs with rigid structural forms. She and Hattendorf worked together to develop a new application that could help develop digital models. However, the application does not do all the work at once. The application can generate complex, accurate digital models and then add them by intuitive manual means.
When the basic hardware is complete, the designer manually connects the brass wires to the garment. The rivets they designed are in line with the flat cut pattern of the garment. Walsh came up with a range of different outfits, including coats, vests, pants, and dresses.
