AM-Flow receives US$4 million investment, 3D printing automation gets capital blessing again

In October 2020, AM-Flow received an investment of US$4 million to further expand its automation-focused products in the 3D printing industry. The company is located in Amsterdam and Eindhoven and focuses on AI-based computer vision, motion and robotics solutions. These are designed to process 3D printed parts at high speed and efficiency.

Participants in the Series A financing led by BOM Brabant Ventures include the leaders of the additive manufacturing market Materialize (Leuven, Belgium) and Midwest Prototyping (Blue Mounds in the United States), Innovatiefonds Noord-Holland (Amsterdam, Netherlands) and previous investments By Miller Turner and DOEN participants.

In recent years, the industry applications of 3D printing have greatly increased. However, CEO Stefan Rink said that the growth of 3D printing has been limited due to the lack of automated production processes. "Post-production (identification, quality control, transportation and packaging) is still performed by people. So far, 3D printing technology has been inefficient and too expensive for mass production lines."

Through the application of machine learning, computer vision and robotics technology, AM-Flow can provide modular solutions to automate the entire production line.

AM-FLOW started as a supplier in the additive manufacturing industry in 2018 and has quickly established a global position in the field of 3D printing post-processing. Amsterdam branch focuses on software development and AI; Eindhoven mechatronics, robotics and computer vision departments. At BIC, the company also has a showroom and works with other parties (including Marketiger) to support Brainport Eindhoven's additive manufacturing ecosystem.

AM-FLOW can provide end-to-end digital manufacturing solutions for powder bed metal 3D printers after completing their work; it is an expert in the field of 3D shape recognition, and a leading supplier of industrial machine vision systems and AI software for product and process automation Quotient.
