Arkema acquires resin curing photoinitiator company Lambson, expands Sartomer product portfolio

Arkema acquires Lambson, a company specializing in the production and sale of resin-cured photoinitiators. This series of products can meet the needs of high-end markets such as electronics, 3D printing, digital inks, composite materials and high-performance coatings.

The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2019.

Sartomer is part of the Arkema Group, and these solutions will complement Sartomer's product line, a global leader in photocurable resins, while helping accelerate its growth in this fast-growing market.

The agreement will further strengthen the share of specialty products in Arkema's product portfolio, in line with its long-term goals.

Lambson develops and sells various photoinitiators for curing, and the market growth rate is estimated at about 5% per year. The company is headquartered in the UK and has sales of about 45 million euros.

The photoinitiator initiates the polymerization reaction during the UV curing process and forms a perfect match with Sartomer's resin series.

The development of this integrated product will enable Sartomer to better meet customer requirements, especially in the fields of electronics, 3D printing, digital inks, composite materials and high-performance coatings.
