Arkema selects Singapore to produce Rilsan high-performance bio-based polyamide, and the plant is expected to be completed by the end of 2021.

Arkema has selected a new world-scale factory on Jurong Island, Singapore, focusing on the production of amino undecanoic acid monomer and its flagship product, Rilsan® polyamide 11 resin. In July 2017, Arkema announced that it will expand PA11's global production capacity by 50% to support its Asian customers' strong demand for high-performance bio-based solutions, especially to seize the major opportunities in the lightweight materials sector.

Arkema chose Singapore's Jurong Island to establish a new bio-based polyamide production base based on Jurong Island's many advantages in infrastructure, logistics, industrial integration and operational excellence, as well as its carbon footprint related to production activities here Can be optimized.

"This significant investment strengthens our global influence in the field of bio-based materials and brings us closer to our Asian customers," said Erwoan Pezron, global president of Arkema's Technology Polymers business. "We believe that Singapore's industrial and innovative friendly environment is an important asset for our project."

Rilsan® Polyamide 11 is derived from castor oil and is the only 100% bio-based polyamide material certified for use in many of the most demanding applications including electronics, 3D printing, oil and gas extraction, and the automotive market. Replace metal parts.

The project is part of a special investment of approximately 500 million Euros designated by the group between 2018 and 2021. The factory is expected to be completed by the end of 2021.
