Automotive lighting and electronics expert Hella unveils next-generation lighting technology SSL | HD

As an expert in automotive lighting and electronics, Hella has further developed the matrix LED system, and has officially launched a new generation of lighting technology-high-resolution solid-state lighting "SSL | HD".

From the most basic halogen lamps to xenon lamps to LED headlights, the "eyes" of cars are also being upgraded and updated. As an expert in automotive lighting and electronics, Hella has further developed the matrix LED system, and has officially launched a new generation of lighting technology-high-resolution solid-state lighting "SSL | HD".

Hella predicts that the entire automotive industry's demand for personalization will grow year by year. In view of this, Hella's newly developed lighting technology can further reduce the light source, enabling 15,000 nail-sized LED pixels to be independently and intelligently controlled, and integrated into the vehicle architecture in a more compact space. At the same time, more pixels and larger luminous surfaces make automotive lighting better quality and performance. The direct benefit of this technology is that it can provide OEMs with more flexibility when personalizing their vehicle designs, such as more compact products.

In addition, high-resolution digital pixel switching enables additional security features such as optical lane markings, as well as personalization. It is reported that Hella has specially designed two scenes of "home" and "away from home" for the Audi A8. The front and rear lights will show different dynamic lighting effects, thus giving the car a more personalized appearance.

At the same time, SSL | HD technology can also bring new business models to OEMs. Lighting products equipped with this new technology generally become a standard feature of the entire vehicle, but will be activated and charged only when consumers have demand.

It is reported that Hella has obtained the first batch production order and successfully integrated the technology into the headlights. It is expected that in the next three years, consumers will be able to see cars equipped with this new technology on the road.
