BASF 3D Printing Solutions Co., Ltd. (B3DPS) will bring forward a wider range of products and a new brand Forward AM to the industry-leading exhibition of additive manufacturing-Formnext 2019

BASF 3D Printing Solutions Co., Ltd. (B3DPS) will bring its broader product range and brand new to the industry-leading exhibition of additive manufacturing-Formnext 2019. Industry experts can go to booth D21 in Hall 12.1 of the Frankfurt Exhibition Center from November 19 to 22 to have face-to-face exchanges with B3DPS experts. B3DPS continues to promote the next stage of industrial scalability and additive manufacturing by launching a new brand, Forward AM. "Forward" stands for "Future-oriented materials and technologies for the future", and "AM" stands for "Additive Manufacturing". The brand uses a refreshing arrow logo combined with the words "innovative additive manufacturing" to emphasize B3DPS's positive attitude towards this industrial manufacturing field.

Broad product portfolio and expanded service range

The BASF debut under the Forward AM brand will provide customers with end-to-end material and service solutions covering the entire value chain from initial product conception to mass production. Forward AM has the broadest material portfolio in today's industrial 3D printing market, including powder bed melting, advanced plastic and metal wires, and the latest photopolymers.

At this Formnext exhibition, Forward AM invited the audience to experience BASF's comprehensive additive manufacturing service portfolio, covering the entire virtual engineering service, from the initial design concept of components ("additive manufacturing design"), to printing and finishing. Simulation work ("Ultrasim®"), then scanning and testing.

In addition, from the first quarter of 2020, the B3DPS product portfolio will add an advanced flexible coating: this product is particularly suitable for flexible materials such as Ultrasint® TPU 01. Ultrasint® TPU 01 is a flexible material developed by BASF and HP for its Jet Fusion 3D printer. The new coating can also be used for special applications. Forward AM will provide four options: black, white, metallic silver and transparent.

Forward AM also plans to significantly expand its thermoplastic Ultrafuse wire product portfolio and will be the first to launch Ultrafuse TPU 95A, Ultrafuse ABS ESD, and Ultrafuse PEI 9085 in the market for water testing. The company will provide samples in January 2020, and a larger number of samples will be available from the end of the first quarter of 2020. In addition, at this Formnext exhibition, Forward AM experts will also showcase new ceramic wires on the B3DPS booth.

Diversified applications and excellent cooperation projects

As in previous years, Forward AM will show the audience at the current Formnext exhibition the highlights of application cases, as well as the latest customer components in various industries. On the B3DPS booth, a large 3D printed facade element about 2 meters high and about 1 meter wide will take the lead in jumping into the audience. At the scene, a full-size 3D printed surfboard made of Ultrafuse rPET recycled wire will undoubtedly also attract everyone's attention.

The engine bracket developed by BASF and Daimler has sparked great interest in the application of 3D printing technology in the automotive industry and other industries. The polyamide series material Ultrasint® PA6 MF used in this engine mount has extremely high rigidity and sturdiness, and shows excellent printing performance on Huashu high-tech printers. Therefore, this case is very much for many manufacturing fields Attractive solution. Forward AM experts will use such application cases at Formnext 2019 to demonstrate the possibilities and added value of 3D printing. In addition, interested viewers can also learn more about the economic advantages of industrial additive manufacturing through a clear use case. For example, BASF and Origin cooperated with Ultracur3D to develop a camera housing, and detailed production economics of the product analysis.

3D printed shoes-moving forward

3D printing technology is increasingly favored by the shoe industry. The Forward AM team is working closely with industry partners and will showcase the results achieved at the Formnext 2019 show.
