BASF is expanding its Basotect® melamine resin foam product line. The new grade Basotect® UF + has lower emissions and will replace the Basotect® UF that has been successful in the market and will be used in more applications. This extremely lightweight soft foam is very suitable for the thermal insulation of railway vehicles and the insulation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems in buildings. At the same time, it can effectively reduce the noise level of the equipment. The new brand will be available for sale worldwide today.
Basotect® UF + has the same properties as its predecessor, Basotect® UF, that is, high elasticity, low thermal conductivity, very low density of 7 kg / m3, and does not release mineral fibers during processing. The high flexibility allows this foam to squeeze into very small gaps and highly curved surfaces, such as ceilings and walls. Basotect® UF + meets the most stringent fire safety requirements, including the American Society for Testing and Materials C1410 industrial application test standard.
Due to its dimensional stability, extremely low density and excellent flame retardant properties, this foam developed by BASF is also suitable for sound absorption and insulation of trains, subways and trams. Basotect® UF + meets the most stringent fire protection requirements of the transportation sector, so it can be used on a variety of railways and railway vehicles.
