BigRep unveils next-generation MXT technology industrial printer at Formnext in Germany

Taking advantage of the German Formnext exhibition, BigRep introduced a new generation of high-performance material processing and functional prototype manufacturing printers, and demonstrated the new MXT extrusion technology used in the printer.

MXT stands for metering extrusion technology and is launched at the same time as the new BigRepPRO and BigRepEDGE printers. According to reports, with MXT technology, the average extrusion speed of FFF / FDM printers at the highest settings can be increased by 5 times. BigRep's newly launched printer uses Bosch Rexroth motion system, which is superior in printing speed, accuracy and print quality. In addition, the new generation of printers are also equipped with IoT connectivity for user-friendly operation.

MXT technology can clearly distinguish wire feeding, melting and melt extrusion, and can completely control the extrusion speed and the amount of extruded material. This is undoubtedly a major highlight of BigRep's new product. It is understood that this technology benefits from a cooperation between BigRep and BASF. According to the cooperation, the two parties jointly develop materials and use MXT technology to test the accuracy of the materials.

PRO & EDGE Industrial Printer

In addition to MXT technology, BigRep PRO and BigRep EDGE new printers also incorporate CNC control systems from Bosch Rexroth. The system will add value to new printers in terms of performance, durability and accuracy.

BigRep EDGE will be launched in the second half of 2019. BigRep EDGE is similar to BigRep PRO in most performances. The most important difference is that BigRep EDGE prints faster, can print 1000mm per second, build volume is 1500 x 800 x 600 mm and is equipped with a heated construction room ( The printing room temperature can be controlled up to 200 ° C, and the printing bed temperature can be controlled up to 220 ° C).
