Last year, Great Wall Motor Co., Ltd. and the Zhangjiagang Municipal People's Government signed a new energy vehicle project cooperation agreement in Nanjing, in cooperation with BMW to create a new automobile brand "Beam". It is worth noting that the Beam Vehicle project is based on BMW's MINI series of new energy vehicles (including pure electric passenger vehicles), internal combustion engine vehicle R & D and production, and related component production. The planned production capacity is 160,000 new energy vehicles.
The industrial planning and construction of the Zhangjiagang project of the Great Wall BMW Beam Automobile is to create a "one base and three centers", where "one base" refers to: BMW new energy vehicle global manufacturing base; "three centers" refer to: BMW new energy vehicles Global R & D center, BMW engine, transmission and other key parts production center, jointly build a carbon fiber lightweight industrial center. In the context of globalization, after the completion of the Great Wall BMW Beam Vehicle Project, Zhangjiagang will become the manufacturing and R & D center of Great Wall BMW New Energy Vehicles in the Asia Pacific and even the world.
