BMW M2 Thunder reduces weight with carbon fiber composite parts

At the end of last year, BMW officially released the M2 Thunder version of the M Sport Kit, which includes 19-inch forged alloy wheels, carbon fiber roof and trunk lid, titanium exhaust, upgraded brake kit and new spring / shock absorber kit. Reduce engine weight while increasing engine power and torque.

The 19-inch forged rims in this kit are finished with gold or black finish, which reduces 3.2 kg of unsprung mass compared to the original M2 Thunder version of the rim, which can be used for steering operation and positive impact of dynamic driving.

The carbon fiber roof reduces the weight of the vehicle by 5 kg. The optional carbon fiber trunk lid and hood can reduce the weight by 6 kg and 9 kg, respectively.

At the same time, consumers can also purchase M Performance stainless steel exhaust systems with titanium silencers and 93mm caliber tail throats. This exhaust system can reduce vehicle weight by 8 kg.
