BorgWarner Korea celebrates milestone of 70 millionth starter

BorgWarner Changning Plant ushered in the milestone of the 70 millionth starter production on August 1, 2019. All employees gathered on that day to celebrate this extraordinary record. The factory awarded the 70 millionth starter to veteran employees who produced the plant's first starter.

"BorgWarner is proud to be able to reach this milestone, because it represents the success of our starter technology. We perfectly integrate cutting-edge technology, extensive professional engineering knowledge and localized production," BorgWarner Stefan Demmerle, president and general manager of Powertrain, said. "We want to thank all the employees of the Changning plant. It is their selfless dedication and high performance that have created this brilliant milestone in the past 22 years. Their hard work will definitely enable the company to reach the production target of 100 million units in 2029."

BorgWarner Changning plant started production of starters in December 1997. The plant provides global OEMs with advanced and efficient products, with rapid growth, reaching the first milestone of its 10 millionth starter in May 2002. To date, the plant has supplied to 43 original equipment manufacturers in 21 countries.

The plant's starters feature a reliable transmission system that can withstand the extreme thermal conditions that can be imagined.
