Bosch reinvests in ABAX Sensing to support development of solid-state lidar technology

Robert Bosch Venture Capital Co., Ltd. (RBVC), a German venture capital company of the Bosch group, completed its subsequent investment in ABAX Sensing. ABAX is currently developing an all-solid-state chip lidar (Lidar) for consumer and automotive applications, especially for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous vehicles.

RBVC and Orbbec, a leading Chinese high-tech company focusing on 3D sensor technology, originally led the initial round of A round financing of ABAX Sensing, and GSR Capital and other investors participated.

Dr. Ingo Ramesohl, General Manager of RBVC, said: "Our subsequent investment in ABAX demonstrates our excitement with ABAX's breakthrough approach, namely the development of next-generation lidar, which enhances Robert Bosch Ventures' investment in autonomous driving sensors and software. 'S portfolio is growing. "

The continuous development of autonomous driving has raised higher expectations for hardware technologies such as lidar, which is one of the key sensors that support autonomous vehicles to perceive complex traffic environments.

ABAX's enhanced chip-level solutions essentially enable low-cost, small-scale product design, combining functional requirements and security. Its proprietary anti-interference technology can very effectively eliminate the mutual interference between different lidar equipment and the interference caused by ambient light.

ABAX has begun small-scale production testing of its first-generation lidar products and has conducted related customer tests.
