Bridgestone Expands Truck, Bus Radial Tire (TBR) Capacity in North America

Bridgestone recently announced that its Bridgestone Americas company ’s Warren plant in Tennessee will expand truck and bus radial tire (TBR) capacity to meet the growing demand for TBR in the North American market.

Bridgestone Americas said it will invest 40 million U.S. dollars in the next three years to expand the plant area and increase production equipment. It is expected that by the end of 2020, the plant's TBR production capacity will be expanded from the current 9,125 Nissan to 9,400.

Statistics show that in the first three quarters of 2018, Bridgestone's TBR sales in the North American market increased by 8% year-on-year. The United States Tire Manufacturers Association (USTMA) pointed out that including the Canadian market, North American TBR sales increased by 6% year-on-year. Bridgestone performed better than the industry average.

Bridgestone stated that in the future, it is necessary to adopt fast and flexible policies to follow up according to market development and changes, produce products with high quality and competitive advantages, and form a supply and marketing system that can meet market demand in a timely manner.
