Broadcom, a global semiconductor leader, recently launched the industry's first commercially available passive optical fiber crystalline silicon (PON OLT) equipment, which supports the recently approved ITU G.9807.1 XGS-PON and G.989 NGPON-2 protocols.
It is reported that Broadcom is now the sole supplier of end-to-end commercial solutions for all commercially viable PON technologies.
