Canadian 3D printing company Mosaic Manufacturing has recently launched the 3D printing device Palette 2

Canadian 3D printing company Mosaic Manufacturing recently introduced the Palette 2 3D printing device, which can realize multi-material printing in a single extruder FDM 3D printer. Palette 2 is an upgraded version of Mosaic's flagship Palette.

Although most 3D printers are capable of generating complex workpieces, they are limited to printing monochrome, single-material parts. Mosaic's Palette / Palette device (an automatic filament splicer) works side-by-side with a 3D printer and can turn a normal single extruder 3D printer into a machine with multiple material capabilities without the need for multiple nozzles or upgrades to the printer .

When using Palette for 3D printing, use a multicolor 3D model. Their software checks GCODE for multi-material printing and determines the exact length of each material required. The system uses a unique internal cutter called Splice Core to accurately combine and stitch filaments while printing. This allows you to enter any printer without modifying it, and you have everything you need for multicolor printing with a printer you already own. The device can hold up to four filaments and combine them into one filament.

Back in 2016, the mosaic manufacturing company conducted a Kickstarter campaign on its original mosaic palette and broke the $ 100,000 mark in the previous 12 hours, after which it made a total of $ 230,000 in campaign promises. In 2017, Mosaic Manufacturing introduced the $ 799 Palette, which retains the original unique “splicing” function, while adding new material compatibility, allowing the choice of soluble, semi-flexible (TPU) and PETG materials. Reliable PLA-PLA printing.

Now, the company has launched a multi-material 3D printing ecosystem, including Palette 2, CANVAS software platform and CANVAS Hub. Palette 2 can be used with users' existing 3D printers or integrated directly into the 3D printer by the printer manufacturer. The Palette 2 device enables users to combine flexible materials, rigid materials, soluble materials and materials of different colors in one print. The company says it is compatible with almost all filament printers on the market.

The Palette 2 can automatically calibrate 3D printers with a color touch screen, eliminating the need for any external sensors or adding to the 3D printer. It also has automatic bounce detection and Mosaic's next-generation solid-state filament stitching technology. As part of the Palette 2 release, Mosaic Manufacturing also announced that MakerGear, Raise3D, Dremel, Robo 3D, gCreate and MAKEiT are all Palette 2 and Palette 2 Pro integration partners. These companies will introduce 3D printers with an integrated Palette 2 experience so that users can access multi-material 3D printing as a native feature.
