Ceramic 3D printing expert Tethon 3D announced the launch of three new UV curable 3D printing resins

In many fields such as medical and aerospace, due to the use environment of different users, there are also different requirements for 3D printing resin products. For example, the permanent AFC 3D printing needs to be combined with soft tissues to reduce the discomfort of patients. Recently, Tethon 3D, a ceramic 3D printing expert based in Nebraska, has announced the launch of three new types of UV-curable 3D printing resins, including graphene, cordierite and mullite components, which are used to create complex geometric shapes. Components.

Graphenite is Tethon's new graphene 3D printing material. Flake carbon allotropes are known for their high strength-to-weight ratio, excellent thermal and electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance and scratch resistance. Therefore, the target customers of this resin are manufacturers of energy storage devices, sensors, electronics, and any other components that can take advantage of the high-performance properties of graphene.

In particular, Graphenite resin is a substitute for Tethon to replace carbon fiber reinforced composite materials in the FDM space, because it has never really been comparable in resin-based 3D printing.

And Cordierite and Mullite are two new technical ceramic materials of Tethon. The former is a magnesium iron aluminum cyclosilicate, which is characterized by low thermal conductivity, low thermal expansion and high thermal shock resistance (remains stable under rapid temperature changes). Cordierite can be used at temperatures up to 1200 °C and may be used in heaters, thermocouples, insulators, refractory shapes and ceramic mirrors.

Similarly, Mullite also gets its value due to its low thermal expansion, low thermal conductivity and excellent creep resistance. The material is known to maintain its strength at high temperatures (up to 1800 °C), while also having excellent chemical stability and electrical resistivity. Therefore, mullite is very suitable for the production of high temperature chemical contact parts in aerospace and energy industries.

Tethon is optimistic about the advent of three resin materials. Chief Technology Officer Greg Pugh said: "Our team is very happy to introduce these new materials. With the powerful features of Bison 1000, we can plug and play various technical ceramics. The open setting also allows our customers to use Tethon 3D’s Genesis base resin to formulate custom ceramic and metal UV curable resins indoors. With this system, there are hundreds of materials that can be adapted to work in our open ecosystem."
