China develops high-speed permanent magnet synchronous traction motor for 400 km / h high speed trains

CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Corporation released the TQ-800 permanent magnet synchronous traction motor for 400 km / h high-speed EMUs on the 17th. This marks the first time that China's high-speed rail power has established a technology platform for permanent magnet traction motors with a speed of 400 kilometers per hour, filling a domestic technical gap and laying a solid foundation for the upgrading of China's rail transit traction drive technology.

According to Li Guang, deputy director of the Traction Motor Research Institute of CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Company, this "permanent magnet high-speed rail" motor has many advantages. For example, the use of new closed air cooling and directional cooling of key parts ensures that the interior of the motor is clean and effectively balances the temperature of each part of the motor; the use of new rare earth permanent magnet materials effectively solves the problem of demagnetization of permanent magnets; and combines high power The advantages of locomotive and high-speed rail traction motor insulation structure, with higher insulation reliability.

Li Guang said that compared to traditional asynchronous traction motors, this "permanent magnet high-speed rail" motor has comparative advantages such as higher power density, higher efficiency, stronger environmental adaptability, and lower life cycle costs.

After experiencing "DC" and "AC", the world's rail vehicle traction technology is developing towards the 3.0 "Permanent Magnet" drive technology. Various performance indicators of this permanent magnet synchronous traction motor have reached the international advanced level, and will be used to drive China's key research and development project-a high-speed train of 400 km / h, a multinational interconnected and interoperable train.
