The project covers an area of about 30 acres. In November 2019, BJKD passed the machine test of SMIC’s 12-inch core quartz parts, and the test results were all qualified. It became China’s first local quartz processing enterprise certified by SMIC. The BJKD is 8-12 inches high. Huge breakthroughs have been made in the research and development and processing technology of precision and large-size quartz products, filling a number of gaps in the field of quartz processing and breaking the monopoly of foreign technology.
The new CapitaLand Quartz factory located in the Beijing Economic Development Zone will focus on building 12-inch high-end quartz product production lines with high-end integrated circuit and equipment manufacturing companies such as SMIC, Northern Huachuang and Beijing Yandong as the core.
BJKD Chairman Zhang Zhongshu said that after the completion of the new factory, BJKD cold processed etching products and fire processed products are expected to each account for 50% of the production capacity, and domestic and international businesses will each account for 50%, becoming the main force in the domestic and foreign 12-inch high-end semiconductor quartz market.
