China Leading Universities Jointly Establishes Micro-nano Ceramic New Material Industry Technology Research Institute

On the morning of August 18, four academicians including Jiang Zhuangde of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, as well as ceramic materials researchers from Tsinghua University, Tianjin University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Hohai University, and other universities attended the Micro-nano Ceramic New Material Industry Technology Research Institute and Incubator Project Groundbreaking ceremony.

The total investment of the project is about 1.15 billion yuan. Relying on the core scientific research team and related research resources of the Key Laboratory of Electronic Ceramics and Devices of the Ministry of Education of Xi'an Jiaotong University, and related research resources, it will gather high-level scientific and technological talents, incubate scientific and technological innovation companies, and cultivate industrialized listed companies. Create a talent highland and industrial cluster in the field of micro-nano ceramic new materials in Fushan District, Yantai.

The project is planned to be constructed in three phases and is scheduled to start in 2019. The research institute plans to be established in the first half of 2020. The first phase of the industrial park will be put into production by the end of 2020. After the third phase is completed and put into operation, the annual output value can reach more than 2 billion yuan, and the annual profits and taxes can reach more than 500 million yuan. This type of products can replace imports and participate in international competition, and promote the gathering and development of peripheral processing facilities, tertiary industry services and other industries. To become an industrial cluster featuring functional ceramic materials has important strategic significance for the conversion of old and new kinetic energy in Fushan District.
