Epoxy resin coated steel bar is a layer of epoxy resin protective coating prepared by electrostatic spray powder high temperature fusion process on the surface of ordinary steel bar. The coating has excellent chemical resistance, does not react with acid and alkali, and can withstand concrete for a long time. High alkaline environment without being destroyed. And the coating is impermeable, so it can prevent the corrosive media such as water, oxygen, chloride and other chemical components from contacting the steel bar, effectively protecting the steel bar, and greatly extending its corrosion life.

ZJFG is the first domestic steel mill to integrate steel reinforcement-epoxy coating-shear-bending rebar components. As the largest epoxy resin-coated steel bar project in China and the world, our first-stage epoxy coating line has an annual production capacity of 150,000 tons. It is located in the group's hot-rolled production base and realizes the integration of steel bar rolling to coating processing. The production is more reliable, the quality and quality control are more reliable, and the steel bar can be rolled to a certain size according to the project requirements, helping the construction party reduce the waste of the steel bar head.

Epoxy-Coating protects the steel using several mechanisms. If undamaged, the coating prohibits the passage of chloride ions, thus protecting the steel from corrosion damage. If minor holes or damage are present in the coating and sufficient chloride ions are available in the concrete, then localized corrosion may occur. For the corrosion reaction to proceed, a cathode is required. If all bars are coated, then only very small cathodes are present, substantially reducing the corrosion rate. Tests conducted for the FHWA demonstrated that if both top and bottom mats were coated, the corrosion rates of Epoxy-Coated Steel Reinforcing Bars were 40 to 50 times less than that of similar uncoated bars.
