Recently, JSZT Submarine Cable Technology Group announced that the company has successfully developed two high-end cable products and successfully passed the appraisal organized by the China Electricity Council.

The two products are "cross-linked polyethylene insulated power cable system with rated voltage of 500 kV" and "cross-linked polyethylene insulated smooth aluminum sheathed power cable system with rated voltage of 220 kV".

Among them, 500kV XLPE insulated cables, as ultra-high voltage cables, have broad prospects in the construction of large-scale hydroelectric power stations, pumped storage power stations and urban networks. However, China's wire and cable industry started relatively late, and the manufacturing technology of ultra-high voltage power cables is constrained by others. In addition, studies have shown that 50% of the cable system failures occur at the cable joints without considering external damage. Large-length cables can eliminate or reduce the intermediate joints, greatly improving the safety of the high-voltage cable system.

In the process of research and development of ultra-high voltage and long-length power cables, JSZT has increased the research and development of smooth aluminum-sheathed metal shielding structure cables in response to line failures caused by discharge and ablation of multi-wrinkled aluminum sheathed high-voltage cables at home and abroad. Independently innovative smooth aluminum sleeve equipment manufacturing technology, smooth aluminum sleeve structure design technology, large outer diameter smooth aluminum sleeve reduction technology, reduce product outer diameter, improve current-carrying capacity, and creatively combine the large cross-section and large length of the high-voltage submarine cable system , High water resistance and other core R&D technologies and process control are extended to land power cable systems. A full range of technical research has been carried out in terms of ensuring material cleanliness, large-length insulation extrusion process, degassing process, and wrinkled aluminum sleeve structure design. The 500kV 3000mm2 large cross-section cable has been successfully developed and passed the type test and pre-qualification test at one time and improve the international competitiveness of products.
