China’s 3.5Ni ultra-low temperature steel realizes import substitution Hay:A02HGWG

On January 6, the first batch of 105mm thick 3.5Ni ultra-low temperature steel plates produced by HGWG Steel Technology Group was successfully delivered to customers. Its thickness exceeded the maximum thickness of the product's national standard of 100mm, realizing the import substitution of 3.5Ni steel plates with a thickness of more than 100mm used in China.

3.5Ni steel is an ultra-low temperature steel with a nickel content of 3.5%. It is mainly used to manufacture petroleum and air separation oxygen equipment and ammonia synthesis equipment. The lowest operating temperature can reach -101°C. It has high strength, excellent low temperature toughness, and good welding performance. It is a material with better toughness for use in deep cold environments. With the development of China's petrochemical and coal chemical industries, the market demand for 3.5Ni steel has a broad prospect.

This batch of products is used in the manufacture of low-temperature pressure vessels for key equipment of the second phase of the 40 million tons/year integrated refining and chemical project of Zhejiang Petrochemical Co., Ltd. Prior to this, the key technical indicators and physical quality of HGWG's 3.5Ni steel, 5Ni steel, and 9Ni ultra-low temperature steel have reached the domestic leading and international advanced level. The certified thickness of the steel plate has reached 150mm, but there is no history of batch supply of steel plates with a thickness of over 100mm.
