On April 8, China's SHSH Carbon Fiber Technology Group, Chinese wind power giant SHDQ and Dow Chemical signed a memorandum of understanding on trilateral strategic cooperation, which will comprehensively promote cooperation in the field of carbon fiber for wind turbine blades.
In 2018, SHSH and SHDQ jointly undertook the "Key Technology Research and System Integration Development of Large-scale Wind Power Carbon Fiber Blades" project, and started the research and development cooperation in the field of large-tow carbon fiber applications.
At present, SHDQ has completed the trial production of carbon fiber test samples using small batches of SHSH carbon fibers, and the samples are in the testing stage. This contract will further follow up the development of new technologies in the blade field and strive for more options for future material supply.
SHSH is one of China's important synthetic fiber production bases, and has broken through 48K large tow carbon fiber industrialization technology.
Dow Chemical is a world-renowned chemical supplier. Its epoxy resins, adhesives and other products are used as key raw materials for blades and have been applied to multiple models of SHDQ fan blades.
