China’s carbon fiber reinforced materials are used for airport terminal reinforcement for the first time

Shanghai Petrochemical's carbon fiber reinforced materials were successfully applied for the first time in the Nanjing Airport Reconstruction and Expansion Project. The project consumed more than 10,000 square meters of carbon fiber woven cloth, creating the largest amount of this product in a single project since its application.

In the reconstruction and strengthening of the airport terminal building, the project construction unit used carbon cloth to strengthen and strengthen its roof, beams, columns, and floor and other main bearing structures according to the structural characteristics and requirements of the terminal building. It solves problems such as concrete looseness, damage, and reduced bearing capacity caused by long service life. At the same time, because of the simple method of carbon cloth reinforcement, it is very easy to construct concrete curved surfaces, curved members and other complex parts in the terminal building, which further speeds up the construction. The construction period reduces the construction cost.

It is understood that in recent years, Shanghai Petrochemical's carbon fiber materials have made great progress in the field of engineering reinforcement, and have played an important role in the maintenance of critical infrastructure such as highways, overpasses, high-speed rail, and tunnels. This time it was able to win the favor of customers and was successfully applied to the airport reconstruction and expansion of high-end engineering projects. It also further shows that the company has developed steadily over the years and its related carbon fiber products have been at the leading level in the domestic market.
