In order to get rid of the monopoly of foreign companies in the field of superhard materials and tools, the Institute of Superhard Materials of the Chinese Academy of Sciences established BJAT in 1993. Although he did not mention it himself, it has good guiding significance for the design, research and development of diamond tools in BJAT and various domestic industries.

Since its development, BJAT has a series of products such as diamond cutter heads, diamond saw blades, diamond engineering drills, diamond grinding wheels, brazed diamond tools and precision superhard grinding wheels, totaling more than 3000 kinds of products, all with independent intellectual property rights, and an annual output of various types There are more than 10 million pieces of superhard material tools, and more than 80% of the products are exported to the United States and the European Union, accounting for about 20% of China's exports of similar products. It is one of China's largest diamond tool export bases.

In terms of quality stability, reliability and technology, BJAT's products have reached the international advanced level, and have been recognized by mainstream foreign users in Europe, America, Japan and other domestic counterparts, and have gradually become a leader in superhard materials.

With the unremitting efforts of BJAT and other companies, China has now become the world's largest superhard material base, with production and sales accounting for more than 90% of the world.

BJAT took the lead in China to realize the formulation design and development of ultra-fine pre-alloyed powder, amorphous alloy powder, etc. applied to diamond tools, thus forming BJAT's unique diamond tool matrix series matrix formula, and according to the different application fields and cutting objects It has solved the problems of the matching of the laser welding transition layer and the cutter head formula, the bonding strength of the powder sintered body and the steel matrix, and ensured that the bending strength of welded and sintered products reached the international advanced level of 900MPa or more. The only domestic tool product that has passed OSA (European Union Grinding Tool Safety Organization) certified member company.

Currently, BJAT has more than 50 patents (18 of which are national invention patents); presided over and participated in the formulation of 8 national and industry standards, and is one of the international leading companies in the superhard material industry.

In recent years, BJAT has developed diamond tool preparation technology for emerging industrial materials (hard, brittle and difficult to process materials), and has achieved diamond nesting and ultra-thin cutting for ultra-fine processing of crystalline silicon, sapphire and other hard and brittle materials in the photovoltaic, LED and semiconductor fields. The localization of products such as wafers, thinning grinding wheels, etc., has fully replaced imports, filled the domestic gap, and reached the international advanced level.
