This product has achieved a good balance of rail mechanical properties, welding performance and corrosion resistance, solved one of the key problems restricting the development of domestic railways, and was successfully applied to the world's first high-speed railway subsea tunnel with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour.

SHBG corrosion-resistant steel rail U68CuCr has the characteristics of high strength and good wear resistance. The periodic immersion corrosion test of the Chinese Academy of Railway Sciences, the comparison test of atmospheric exposure in various environments, and the analysis of actual line applications show that its corrosion resistance is 30%-50% higher than that of traditional U75V rails.

The product development process can be traced back to 4 years ago. In 2016, based on the corrosion problem of the rails on the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed railway, the China National Railway Group put forward the need for corrosion-resistant steel rails. The SHBG track steel project team immediately carried out investigations on the corrosion of the rails in the Shiziyang tunnel of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed railway. . Finally, in 2019, the project team broke through the bottleneck, solved the core technical problems, realized the trial production of the rail industry and passed the technical review of the China National Railway Group. All performances met the highest-level railway standard "Rail for High-speed Railways" (TB/T 3276-2011) ) Requirements.

At the same time, with the permission of the China National Railway Group, in November 2019, a trial paving of 5 kilometers on the left and right tracks of the Shiziyang Submarine Tunnel of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High-speed Railway was successfully carried out. The Shiziyang Tunnel of Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High-speed Railway is the first railway underwater shield tunnel in China. It is also the underwater railway tunnel with the longest mileage and the highest construction standard at that time. The hydrogeological environment is extremely complex and the corrosion resistance of the steel rail is extremely high. The tunnel is about 10.8 kilometers long and is a double-track tunnel. U68CuCr corrosion-resistant rails are laid on the submarine section, and the left and right roads are 5 kilometers each. The requirements for various performance indicators of the steel rail are extremely strict.

SHBG stated that the trial laying of U68CuCr corrosion-resistant rails is the first time that high-speed rail replacement construction has been carried out in a super long and super large tunnel in China. The scale of the project is large and the construction is difficult. There are hundreds of people and only 2 rails can be replaced per night. , A total of 20 need to be replaced. At the same time, it is the first time to apply new steel rail products to passenger high-speed railways, and fills the international gap in the application of corrosion-resistant steel rail products to passenger high-speed railways.
