China’s electronic grade high-purity polysilicon technology achieves a breakthrough Hay:I01GSHH

On December 10, GSHH Electronic Materials Technology Group added 800 tons of electronic grade high-purity polysilicon production line to successfully release the first batch of products, which means that GSHH’s annual production capacity of electronic grade polysilicon increased from 2500 tons to 3,300 tons per year. This breakthrough in mass production will also help China break the "technical blockade" of countries and regions such as Japan and Europe.

Electronic grade polysilicon is the key raw material for the production of chips and is at the upstream end of the integrated circuit industry. Because electronic grade polysilicon requires high purity of polysilicon materials (purity must reach 99.999999999%), for many years, due to the lack of production capacity of enterprises, China has a high degree of dependence on overseas imports. This field has been my country's attempts to overcome. One of the technical problems.

At present, the global semiconductor wafer market has been monopolized by more than 90% of the market share by five suppliers from Japan, Germany and other countries and regions.

In recent years, China's semiconductor material technology companies have been committed to seeking technological breakthroughs in electronic-grade polysilicon, and many semiconductor material technology companies have filled the technical gap in localization in this field. In June 2018, JSXH Semiconductor Material Technology Co., Ltd. realized small batch production of electronic grade polysilicon produced in China for the first time, and successfully exported it overseas (South Korea).

In the first quarter of this year, GSHH’s electronic-grade polysilicon sales surged by 113% year-on-year, setting a record for the highest sales in history. At present, its share of China's integrated circuit polysilicon market has exceeded 15%.
