Carbon fiber composite material is lighter than aluminum-magnesium alloy and stronger than steel. It is a strategic new material integrating structural materials and functional materials. It has been widely used in high-end fields such as aviation and aerospace. Its application in automobile manufacturing is a milestone. The innovative significance of the vehicle has played a very good role in reducing the weight of the vehicle, improving the strength of the body, and reducing energy consumption. The carbon fiber composite electric bus put into operation this time has six advantages: "more energy-saving, more economical, safer, more comfortable, long-lived, and non-corrosive". Compared with the metal body, the strength of the vehicle body is 10% higher, the weight is reduced by 30%, the riding efficiency is increased by at least 50%, the standing area of ​​the same number of seats is increased by more than 60%, and the impact energy of carbon fiber composite material is 5 times that of steel and 3 times that of aluminum. , And the braking distance becomes shorter after light weight, the vehicle is safer to drive, the performance of chemical media is good, the life of the body can be extended by 6 to 8 years, and the driving experience is better.

For the first time, 18 new-type carbon fiber composite buses have applied two new technologies: lightweight body and wheel-side motor drive. The overall energy consumption is about 30% lower than that of ordinary pure electric buses of the same type. The transmission shaft required for traditional vehicles is eliminated, and the floor is low. It is convenient for passengers to get on and off the bus. Calculated on the basis of 500,000 kilometers of operation in 8 years, 18 new lightweight buses will save about 2.7 million kilowatt-hours of electricity and reduce carbon emissions by 332 tons of standard coal.
