China’s first boron 10 isotope production line for nuclear radiation shielding in nuclear power generation and targeted therapy in medicine is laid

It was learned from Chaohu City that the foundation stone laying ceremony of Zhongke Shuofeng High-tech New Materials R & D and Production Project was held in Huanglu Town, Chaohu City, marking the world's first tonnage boron 10 isotope production line officially settled in Chaohu Peninsula.

The project has a total investment of 2 billion yuan and covers an area of ​​130 acres in the first phase. It is mainly based on the scientific research strength and resource advantages of the Institute of Process Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. And supporting core equipment, build a new 3 ton boron 10 isotope pilot line to build a new material industrial park for lithium, strontium and boron.

According to reports, the boron 10 isotope produced by this project has strong radiation protection and neutron absorption functions, and is mainly used for nuclear radiation shielding in nuclear power generation and targeted therapy in medicine.

The project construction period is about 2 years. After the project is completed and put into operation, it is expected to achieve an annual output value of 7.86 billion yuan and an annual tax payment of 490 million yuan. It will grow into the first 10 billion new material industry in Chaohu City, which will promote the upgrading of other new material industries in the city. .

According to the project investor, the highest grade production line for the global boron 10 isotope production project is currently in the United States, with an annual output of 800 kg.
