The umbilical cable delivered this time has a design water depth of 500 meters, a total length of 23.047 kilometers, and a total weight of more than 700 tons. It is equipped with anti-bend devices, bend limiters, traction heads, platform suspension devices, terminal protection boxes, buoyancy blocks, pressure monitoring equipment, etc. The series of accessories provide favorable guarantee for long-term stable operation.
Previously, only a few foreign companies had monopolized the core technology of umbilical cable. In order to break the foreign technology monopoly, since 2009, the NBDF cable has been continuously adjusted to the backbone of scientific research. After 5 years of repeated testing, the first marine umbilical cable sample was created in 2013, and the quality has been continuously improved. In 2016, NBDF cables officially obtained national manufacturing brand certification.
At present, the 220kV submarine cable standard and 320kV flexible DC submarine cable standard of NBDF cables have both obtained the "Made in China" certification, and the corresponding core technical performance is better than national standards.
