On September 23, 2021, China's leading manufacturer of high-purity and ultra-fine zirconium dioxide: GDDF Zirconium Industry Group issued an announcement to raise the sales price of related zirconium products from September 24, and zirconium oxychloride products (including mother liquor) by 2,000 yuan /Ton, zirconium dioxide products will increase by 6000 yuan/ton. At the same time, the prices of other zirconium products of the company will be adjusted simultaneously.
This price increase is the 8th time that GDDF has increased the price of zirconium products in this year. Due to the suspension of production of the world's top three zircon sand RBM, the supply of zircon sand continues to be tight. Since 2021, the price of zircon sand in Hainan has risen from 8,700 yuan/ton at the beginning of the year to 16,650 yuan/ton, an increase of more than 90% during the year.
During the survey on August 8 this year, GDDF stated that the company currently has sufficient orders and has been scheduled to the end of October. Downstream customers basically recognized the price increase of zirconium oxychloride, zirconium dioxide, and fused zirconium products.
