China’s hydrogen fuel cell perfluorinated proton exchange membrane has achieved commercial production Hay:N02SDDY

On November 18, China`s only hydrogen fuel cell perfluorinated proton exchange membrane technology company, SDDY Hydrogen Energy Technology Group`s 1.5 million square meter perfluorinated proton exchange membrane production line first phase project was officially commercialized. Industry experts believe that this marks China’s hydrogen The technical level and production scale of the proton exchange membrane, the core material of energy, has entered the world's leading ranks. Industry experts also pointed out that other core materials for fuel cells, such as catalysts and gas diffusion layers, are still dependent on imports, and technological breakthroughs should be accelerated.

Proton exchange membrane achieves breakthroughs in technology and production scale

The development of hydrogen energy is the general trend. Developed countries such as the United States, Japan, Germany, and South Korea have formulated action goals and technological roadmaps to embrace the hydrogen energy era. China included hydrogen energy in its government work report in 2019.

Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles are an important application field of hydrogen energy, and the fuel cell proton exchange membrane is called the "chip" of the fuel cell vehicle engine. After 16 years of scientific research, SDDY has broken through this core technology. SDDY's proton exchange membrane has been rigorously certified by Mercedes-Benz and Ford (AFCC), with a life span of over 6000 hours and a world-leading performance.

SDDY chief scientist Zhang Yongming said that in addition to SDDY, there are more than a dozen companies in the world that are mainly engaged in the development and production of fuel cell proton membranes, including Gore, DuPont, Asahi Glass, Germany, and BASF. It has become one of the only two companies in the world that can provide proton exchange membranes for mass production of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

"Hydrogen energy is an emerging industry strategically developed in China, and the core technology must be localized." Academician Ouyang Minggao of the Chinese Academy of Sciences believes that "SDDY's proton exchange membrane technology is the core of the core. SDDY has the advantages of proton exchange membranes for fuel cells. Unique and world-leading advanced technology."

Gan Yong, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and former vice president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said that the SDDY production line has been put into production, marking that the proton exchange membrane, the core material of China's fuel cell, has reached a world-class scale and will strongly support hydrogen energy. The industry continues to develop healthily.

Zhang Yongming said that after years of development, SDDY has built one of the most complete fuel cell perfluorinated proton membrane industry chains in the world. It has formed a comprehensive intellectual property system covering raw materials, key intermediates, resins and proton exchange membranes, and has achieved more than 70 One domestic and foreign authorized patent. Among them, the fuel cell proton membrane forming polymer won the 2019 China Patent Gold Award.
