China’s leading large-scale die forgings manufacturer successfully developed Y-connected Large titanium alloy die forgings for the rear fuselage of C919 commercial aircraft Hay:T03ZGEZ

Recently, China-made C919 rear fuselage Y-connecting forgings were successfully developed by ZGEZ Heavy Machinery Technology Group, which will further enhance the independent supporting capabilities of the C919 large aircraft project.


The Y-connector of the C919 rear fuselage is a large titanium alloy die forging with a total length of about 3.4 meters. It is a typical asymmetric, high rib, thin web, and long arc forging with ribs on both sides of the parting surface. It has openings. Forging difficulties such as large arc, small cross-sectional area, and easy deformation.


In the initial stage of product and process design, ZGEZ die forging optimizes process detail planning and application environment verification, repeatedly analyzes the feasibility and operability of product manufacturing, obtains quantitative data, carries out continuous improvement of design and process, shortens product development cycle, and reduces product development Risk and cost. In the product development stage, reasonable planning, design, implementation and on-site technical services are carried out for each link to ensure the successful trial production of the product.

In recent years, ZGEZ has actively explored the international civil aircraft market, and has made a series of key technological breakthroughs in the development of domestic and foreign civil aircraft landing gear die forgings. It has successfully provided a series of domestic and foreign civil aircraft such as C919 large aircraft, A320/321 aircraft and B787 passenger aircrafts delivered products in batches, and successfully completed the trial production of all the 300M steel landing gear die forgings of the Xinzhou 700 new turboprop regional aircraft, helping the national civil aircraft development strategy of "two regional aircraft and two commercial aircraft".


Among them, ZGEZ has undertaken the research and development of more than 60 key products of the C919 project, and provided more than a thousand test pieces and installed parts. The products involve aircraft central wing, suspension, vertical tail, fuselage, hatch, landing gear, etc. This section strongly supports the localization of key materials for the C919 large aircraft and fills the gap in China`s key forging products for large civil aircraft landing gear.


Many parts of C919 come from the 80,000-ton die forging press known as  powerful Heavy Equipment. The die forging press is a key equipment for die forging products required in the fields of aviation, aerospace, petroleum, chemical, shipbuilding and other fields. Through the powerful pressure of this equipment, the problem of one-time precision forming of die forgings is solved.
