ExxonMobil is committed to innovating and succeeding in the value chain through cooperation with customers, thereby promoting the development of polypropylene technology. Since 2016, the two companies have collaborated through strategic brainstorming meetings and trials.

This cooperation and the common demand from the automotive industry led ExxonMobil to develop Achieve Advanced PP8285E1, a high-fluidity, high-impact copolymer resin specifically designed for automotive applications. Compared with traditional polypropylene, Achieve Advanced PP of this brand also eliminates the trade-offs in performance, processing, and disposal, and brings new opportunities to automotive customers.

Using Achieve Advanced PP8285E1, GZJF has created a patented formula that provides a complete solution pursued in the automotive value chain, with high impact strength, high melt flow rate (MFR) and better odor performance.

Achieve Advanced PP8285E1 improves toughness and helps GZJF minimize the plastomer load level, thereby simplifying the formulation. This also enables GZJF's customers to produce a variety of sturdy auto parts, including instrument panels, door panels, consoles and bumper panels more efficiently and economically. By using Achieve Advanced PP8285E1, GZJF has an impact resistance of 46kJ/m2 when compared with the standard impact copolymer (ICP) 10kJ/m2 at the same MFR of 30g/10 min.

This new compound also reduces the use of plastomers by 50%. This method of reducing the external plastomer load can simplify formulations and provide significant cost savings opportunities. In addition, compared with ICP, impact resistance can be increased by 35%. At the same time, up to 20% toughness and better hardness balance (low temperature ductility) can be achieved.
