China’s leading manufacturer of high-strength and high-toughness magnesium alloy materials and Israeli materials scientists jointly develop new high-strength and toughness 3D printed magnesium alloy materials Hay:A03XAXH

On March 27th, XAXN Magnesium Alloy Materials Research Institute was inaugurated in XA High-tech Zone.

Dan Shechtman, world-renowned materials scientist and Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2011, attended the ceremony and unveiled.

Dan Shechtman said: At present, China's magnesium output accounts for more than 50% of the world's magnesium output, and Shaanxi Province's magnesium output accounts for about 70% of China's magnesium output. He and his team will continue to innovate and break through technical bottlenecks. While taking into account high-level theoretical research, based on industrialization research, he will contribute to promoting Shaanxi Province and Xi'an City in the field of magnesium alloy technology research in the forefront of China and the world.

Dan Shechtman is a world-renowned material scientist and electron microscope expert. Because of his creative discovery of quasicrystals in 1982, he won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2011 and is now a professor in the Engineering Materials Department of the Israel Institute of Technology. In 2018, he was hired as a science and technology consultant for the People's Government of XA.

Dan Shechtman`s main research areas include the structure and properties of titanium-aluminum compounds, the structure and properties of rapidly solidified metal materials, the nucleation and growth of CVD diamond films, and the development of new magnesium alloys. He has achieved many world-class Fruitful results.

The Xi'an Shekhtman Nobel Prize New Materials Research Institute is the first Nobel Prize Research Institute in the field of natural sciences in Shaanxi Province. It was jointly established by the Dan Shechtman team and the Xu Chunjie team of Xi'an University of Technology. The institute will be committed to the research and development and industrialization of new materials for rapid solidification, high-strength and toughness 3D printing of magnesium alloys, and carry out basic applied research in the fields of biomedicine, automotive lightweighting, aerospace and other fields, and gradually realize industrialization. The Mannor Award New Materials Research Institute will give full play to the advantages of Shaanxi Province in the field of magnesium resources, assist Xi'an in the rapid development of magnesium alloy deep processing and industrial application, and provide strong intellectual support for the development of hard science and technology innovation in Xi'an!
