On August 16, 2021, China's leading metal composite technology group: HTKJ Aerospace Materials Technology Group made a major breakthrough in the rolling technology of magnesium-aluminum composite plate, and realized the perfect "combination" of magnesium and aluminum. This means that the emergence of this new material is expected to play its application value in the field of China's aerospace and equipment manufacturing lightweight.

In the HTKJ production line, we hold a magnesium-aluminum composite board in our hands. It is very light. The surface is made of metal aluminum with a white silver luster and the interior is magnesium metal. Dr. Wang from the HTKJ Advanced Metal Composite Material Forming Technology and Engineering Research Center introduced: "Mg-Al composite panels have the characteristics of light weight, corrosion resistance, and high strength. They are widely used in aerospace, auto parts, 3C electronics, rail transit and other fields. Application prospects."

And its wider application will be reflected in key parts in the aerospace field. It is understood that when a satellite is operating in space, its surface has high requirements for space corrosion resistance. At present, coating technology is the main anti-corrosion method. However, when the satellite is operating in orbit, the mechanical and physical properties of the coating may still appear. Changes have occurred, thereby affecting the reliability of the spacecraft. Coating technology is also an anti-corrosion method, but it is expensive.


The emergence of magnesium-aluminum composite board can solve these two problems. It has lower cost and higher efficiency, and the surface aluminum is more stable than the coating or plating.

HTKJ's magnesium-aluminum composite plate rolling technology has filled the gap in China. It has received support from the National Key R&D Program, National Natural Science Foundation of China, and China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation FAST Fund, and has obtained core patents in related technical fields. The group has also extended an olive branch to this new technology.
