BJYY's key project, the first phase of the "large-scale silicon material production project for integrated circuits", after 18 months of intensive construction, officially realized mass production on October 16.

The mass production launch ceremony of the 8-inch integrated circuit silicon wafer project was held in the DZ Economic and Technological Development Zone. After mass production, DZ will become the largest semiconductor material production base in northern China.

Tu Hailing, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said: "Silicon material is the most important basic material for our development of integrated semiconductors. Through cooperation with DZ, it will definitely promote and promote the development of our integrated circuits in the future."

The silicon wafer is drawn from high-purity single crystal silicon, and the larger the diameter, the greater the technical difficulty. 8-inch silicon wafers are currently the most widely used product in the chip market, 70% of which used to be imported. After mass production, the project will achieve an annual output of 2.76 million pieces, which will greatly make up for the domestic gap in China.

The "large-scale production of large-scale silicon materials for integrated circuits" has been identified as the number one provincial key project in 2019 since its establishment, with a total investment of 8 billion yuan.

The 8-inch silicon wafer production process is very precise, the defect size must be controlled at the nanometer level, the requirements for production conditions are extremely demanding, and the workshop design is relatively complicated.
