China’s leading submarine cable manufacturer continuously delivered 3 long-length 220kV photoelectric composite submarine cables Hay:F04ZHBS

On July 16, ZHBS Ocean Engineering Cable Technology Group successfully delivered a 220kV photovoltaic composite submarine cable to Huaneng Offshore Wind Power Project. This is the third 220kV large-length submarine cable continuously delivered by Baosheng Submarine Cable in just 20 days after the Huaneng Shandong Peninsula project and the Fujian Changle offshore project, with a total length of more than 182km.

"This time, ZHBS has successively delivered three large-length, large-section photoelectric composite submarine cables, marking the maturity of ZHBS-related process control, the advancement of key technologies, the reliability of manufacturing quality, and the company's ability to perform contracts have been further tested. ZHBS R&D manager Dr. Zhang said, “The Huaneng project delivered today is the largest single-capacity offshore wind power project in northern China. After completion, it will become the highest latitude offshore wind farm in China. The geological conditions and sea conditions of the project construction area are complex. The construction technology is difficult, the available operating window is short, and the time is tight and the tasks are heavy. Both in terms of technical ability, process level, production equipment, and delivery guarantee capabilities, higher requirements are placed on the company."

Among the three projects delivered this time, the three-core 220kV submarine cable used in the C area of the Changle offshore wind farm project in Fujian is the longest, largest cross-section, and heaviest photoelectric composite submarine cable successfully delivered in China. The loop exceeds 110km. The technology of the three-core 220kV photoelectric composite submarine cable produced by ZHBS has been recognized by industry experts and has reached the international advanced level.

At the same time, ZHBS adopts the world's most advanced equipment and technology to successfully introduce 5G technology to realize the digital and intelligent control of the whole process of submarine cable manufacturing, realize the whole life cycle management of product manufacturing, and effectively guarantee the high quality of products.

ZHBS has participated in the construction of many large-scale projects in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shandong, Liaoning and other places in the coastal areas of China, and successively served the Jiangsu Guoneng Dafeng project, the Qidong offshore wind power project with the largest single capacity in China, and China's three-core 220kV super large cross-section, The maximum length of two circuits is 110 kilometers, the Changle offshore project in Fujian, and the first 220kV ultra-long photoelectric composite submarine cable in Shandong Province, the Huaneng Shandong Peninsula project, and a large number of national key projects, and are forming strategic cooperation with many international projects around the world, actively assisting The construction of marine engineering projects along the “Belt and Road” and other coastal countries is setting sail at home and abroad.

"This is not only a test, but also an opportunity. It is an inevitable trend for offshore wind farms to gradually develop into the deep ocean. However, the current transmission technology bottleneck is about 40km. With the increase of offshore distance, it will be more than 50km in the deep sea. Encountered many difficulties and problems." ZHBS CTO Dr. Zhao introduced, "As a leading company in the submarine cable industry, ZHBS has successfully overcome 220kV super-long submarine cable technology, and has recently successfully delivered China’s longest Fujian Changle two-circuit 110 Kilometers of large length and large cross-section 220kV submarine cable; the company is conducting technical research on the technology of DC 500kV, 100km and above super long and super large cross-section submarine cable, and has achieved positive results."

The submarine cable itself must reduce manufacturing costs while conquering manufacturing technology. Future technological progress will not only improve product performance and optimize production processes, but also a big task is to reduce costs and increase efficiency. As offshore wind power advances towards the direction of large-scale, large-scale, and far-reaching seas, how to increase the transmission length while saving costs and reducing consumption is the primary problem facing the offshore wind power industry after the advent of the era of parity. At present, China's offshore wind farms generally adopt the 35 kV AC submarine cable collection scheme. The new ultra-high voltage, ultra-large capacity, and deep-water submarine cable developed by ZHBS can greatly reduce the amount of cables under the condition of the same installed capacity of the wind farm; At the same time, the high voltage can also reduce the active power loss of the line, thereby improving the efficiency and benefit of the power transmission of the wind farm. In terms of the submarine cable structure, ZHBS reduces the production cost, reduces the weight of the cable, and facilitates transportation and installation by optimizing the submarine cable production process. At the same time, it also protects the ocean."

As a leading enterprise in China's submarine cable industry, ZHBS has formed a complete system of systematic R&D and production schemes. Through its unique production technology, the eccentricity of the submarine cable insulation can be controlled within 3% and the roundness of 99.5%. While improving the quality of the submarine cable, it reduces the consumption of raw materials and saves production costs, making ZHBS in an advantageous position in China and the global submarine cable industry.
