This marked the formal entry of mass production of high-end pipes urgently needed in oil and gas fields.
"Since June, SXYG has signed contracts for 6 products with the three oil fields of Changqing, Daqing and Jilin. Customers are waiting for our products to go offline." The sales manager of the coiled tubing branch told us.
High alloy is commonly known as stainless steel, because its alloy elements are expensive, and it is also known as the "luxury" in steel products. Compared with ordinary carbon steel, the biggest advantage of high-alloy coiled tubing is corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance. Mainly used for downhole operations under special conditions such as high temperature, high pressure and high corrosion. It has broad application prospects in the fields of underground coal seam gasification, deep-water natural gas hydrate, corroded gas well completion string, oil field gathering and transportation pipeline, and offshore oil and gas exploitation.
For a long time, high-alloy coiled tubing has been monopolized by American companies and individual joint ventures due to its complicated manufacturing technology, and has become a "pain point" for domestic unconventional oil and gas exploration.
In order to break the technology monopoly, since February 2019, SXYG has concentrated on conquering a number of key core technologies. The matching of the power of the laser welder and the speed of the forming unit is the core technology of high-alloy coiled tube manufacturing. Foreign monopolies have implemented strict technical blockades, and there is no technical data to learn from. Coiled Tubing Company and the National Oil and Gas Pipeline Engineering Technology Center established a joint research team. Starting from the welding principle, after thousands of simulation tests, gradually accumulating experience, reducing the core technology "environmental circle", and mastering the core technology of welding and heat treatment through exploration .
"Laser welding is not a new process, it has been widely used in the manufacturing fields of automobiles, precision instruments, etc. But, like ours, 3mm thick plates, 0.5mm beams as large as the nostrils of needles, stable welding of several kilometers of pressure pipes , To ensure zero defects in welding, in fact, is the effort of embroidery, which must break the "ceiling" of conventional welding." said Li Hongzhi, assistant general manager of the coiled tubing branch.
The successful roll-off of high-alloy coiled tubing expands the application range of SXYG's continuous seamless steel pipe business and provides a stronger guarantee for the exploration and development of oil and gas fields.
"Only in the Xiagu gas field in Jingbian, Changqing, there are thousands of highly corrosive gas wells. Domestic high-alloy coiled tubing can bring a good solution to the quality and efficiency of oil and gas fields."
