On August 6, China`s leading glass fiber technology giant JSJT`s new generation product, E9 ultra-high modulus glass fiber, was officially released at the 6th China International Wind Power Composites Summit Forum. Its modulus exceeded 100 GPa, which once again refreshed the global glass industry. World record for fiber product modulus.
Xing Wenzhong, director of JSJT Glass Research Center, introduced that the current glass fiber product modulus level is usually 80GPa～90GPa, and the modulus value of E9 ultra-high modulus glass fiber is 36% higher than ordinary E glass fiber and 12% higher than E7 glass fiber. The strength of E9 is also 60% higher than ordinary E glass fiber and 12% higher than E7 glass fiber.
The research and development of JSJT's E9 ultra-high modulus glass fiber started in 2018. In the end, JSJT successfully realized the mass production of E9 by relying on its independently developed process technology, which significantly improved the cost performance and product competitiveness of ultra-high modulus glass fiber.
The launch of E9 ultra-high modulus glass fiber opens up greater possibilities for high-end applications of glass fiber composite materials. Xing Wenzhong told reporters that in the past, wind power blades made of glass fiber could only be up to 84 meters in length; after E9 went on the market, the wind power blades could reach 90 to 100 meters in length. E9 products can be applied to the manufacture of large-scale wind blades, fiber optic cable reinforcing cores, aircraft parts, automobile manufacturing, temperature-resistant materials, sports equipment and other products, and have broad application scenarios in wind power, new infrastructure, 5G, transportation and other fields.
In 2009, JSJT successfully developed the E6 glass formula, breaking the 70-year monopoly of the technology in the United States, and obtained the US invention patent authorization in 2012, becoming the first Chinese glass fiber enterprise to obtain the US invention patent authorization. ; Since then, JSJT launched E7 products in 2014, E8 products in 2016, and E9 products this year. The difficulty of launching this series of glass formulations has increased significantly, and the power of innovation has also increased significantly. The company has a total of 220 authorized inventions and a total of 600 applications for inventions, which fully demonstrates JSJT's strong innovation capabilities.
