China’s precision copper rod manufacturer orders the CONTIROD copper wire rod continuous casting and rolling production line from SMS-Meer Hay:A03JXJT

China's leading precision copper rod manufacturer, JSJT Copper Alloy Technology Group ordered a set of CR-3500 copper rod continuous casting and rolling production line CONTIROD® from SMS-Meer in Germany.

The production line integrates continuous casting and continuous rolling processes, with a production capacity of 35 tons of copper rods per hour.

The 8 mm copper rod produced with the new copper rod continuous casting and rolling production line CONTIROD® provided by SMS group will be used as the raw material for the wire drawing products, which will enable JSJT to continuously provide high-quality products for its existing highly modern wire drawing machines. In this way, JSJT can obtain high-quality products in its entire process chain.

Equipped with modern, high-efficiency and energy-saving devices (such as air-fuel ratio control on the shaft furnace, AC variable frequency motor, zoned medium circuit for phosphorus removal and cooling section) and high-performance equipment, the new CR-3500 copper rod continuous casting provided by SMS group The CONTIROD® continuous rolling production line will lay the foundation for achieving the set goals.

The scope of supply includes a melting shaft furnace, a twin-belt casting machine, a 12-stand rolling mill individually driven, a dephosphorization and cooling section, a coiling station, a bundling and packaging station.

The melting shaft furnace adopts SMS group's mature air-fuel ratio control and further researched and developed electrolytic copper and recycling scrap copper feeding and distribution systems. This process technology can reduce gas consumption and improve product quality.

The double-belt casting machine is actually a horizontal casting process. The cross-sectional area of the ingot after casting is 6300 square millimeters. This is an important prerequisite for obtaining continuous high-quality final products, especially large diameter copper rods.

After 12 individually driven rolling mills, the homogeneous ingot is rolled into copper rods of the required diameter.

The casting and rolling technology used has laid a good foundation for the downstream wire drawing process-especially in the production of enameled wires and ultra-fine wires that require higher and higher wire drawing speeds and technical performance.

In the cooling section, the oxide layer on the surface of the copper rod is first reduced by the chemical reaction of the water and alcohol mixture, and then only pure water (without alcohol) is used in the second section to cool the copper rod to the desired target temperature. Separating the two processes can greatly reduce alcohol consumption.
