On October 21, 2022, in China's national WHQN hydrogen energy technology industrial base, the sound of equipment operation will continue to ring in the modern factory buildings. The core components of hydrogen fuel cells: hydrogen fuel cell stacks, membrane electrodes, gas diffusion layers and other core production line equipment have been precisely commissioned.
The total investment of the project will exceed 7 billion yuan. Among them, the first phase of the project (2020 – 2024) has planned hydrogen energy research and development platform, hydrogen fuel cell proton exchange membrane, membrane electrode, hydro hydrolysis membrane, bipolar plate, 10,000 sets of stacks and 10,000 sets of fuel cell power system production lines.
The core components of hydrogen fuel cell mainly include eight key core components, such as proton exchange membrane, catalyst, gas diffusion layer, membrane electrode, bipolar plate, electric stack, air compressor, and hydrogen circulating pump.
With the full operation of WHQN Hydrogen Energy Industrial Base Phase I Project, the five major components of hydrogen fuel cells, including proton exchange membrane, gas diffusion layer, membrane electrode, bipolar plate and electric stack, will be manufactured locally. The base will become the hydrogen energy industrial park with the most complete functions and the most complete industrial chain in China.
